We have created this page to tell you all about what we do!

'Brit Chicks is a free online game for girls!'

 Where they can create their own ‘Chick’ character which will live in the world. The girls then play games, solve quests and go on adventures which earn their Chick virtual rewards called Chick Credits.

Girls can then spend their Chick Credits on virtual items like fashions and accessories, apartments, furniture and furnishings and other treats such as a holiday home or limousine for their Chick! Over time if they are playing the ‘Become a Celebrity’ game their Chick will increase in level and will be able to visit new locations and earn all kinds of in-game rewards for playing.

Chicks will also be able to make friends with others, and if you have given us your permission they will also be able to chat in the world with them, send them virtual gifts, design outfits for them to wear and go to parties and events together.

• This is one of the most important things we do as for many girls this will be their first experience of joining an online community and we want them to have fun in a safe and moderated environment. We do this by using safety measures that include sophisticated chat filters and moderators who monitor online chat and activity.

  As with any online activity, we encourage parents to stay involved and engaged with their children's behaviour. We always do our best to remind Chicks to stay safe while playing on Brit Chicks, but you can help too - not just in our world, but with their online adventures in general. Some good reminders for them are:

• Never give out your personal information online. Personal information includes things like your real name, address, phone number, e-mail or school.

  If someone says or does something that makes you feel uncomfortable, or if they ask for your personal information, then use the ‘report’ button on their profile page or look out for one of our live moderators in the world and speak with them – always tell your parents as well.

  Never give out your password to anybody, we will never ask you for your password except on the login page, and there is no reason anyone else would want it other than to steal your Chick Credits or your Chick so please keep it safe.

• Chicks are encouraged to follow the Brit Chick rules and can apply to become one of our ‘Happy Helpers’ – these are girls who have played extensively in the world and are therefore able to help others.

  They are usually on hand to say hi to new players so they don’t feel left out and are also great at assisting with tasks and adventures which really strengthen the sense of community within the world.

  

• Brit Chicks is great fun for girls – it’s full of things they love to do and there’s no boys allowed! There are lots games to play, as well as quests and adventures for them to go on, fashions and accessories to shop for, outfits to create and apartments to design and furnish – all of these incorporate basic role play that girls have been enjoying for years but can now do in a far more interactive way.

  They also have the opportunity to make friends in the world and to meet up with them, to chat and go on adventures together.

  We have very regular competitions for everyone to enter and an active Blog which the girls love writing on – all our Blog posts go through an approval process that includes pre- and post-moderation.

• Kids love to have fun and this is the perfect time for them to learn. The Brit Chicks world is based on our own and therefore the players get to travel around the globe experiencing new countries, new cities and new cultures on their way. There are quizzes and quests that require them to have some understanding of the place they are in and they learn this information along the way.

  Children playing in the world have often contacted us having visited a place we feature ‘for real’ and say that they are amazed that it looked just the same and they knew exactly where they were!

  We love hearing reports like this as it shows they are gaining important skills which will be valuable in later life.

  Completing adventures and tasks and playing games in the world takes a variety of skills that your child can develop over time. Girls will need to think creatively, hypothesize, strategize, manage resources, team up with friends, and develop a wide variety of other skills that could extend positively into their everyday lives.

  The Chicks have to communicate with non playing characters in the world regularly via speech bubbles and this not only encourages reading but also gives your child plenty of opportunity to learn new vocabulary.
